Track app installs from TikTok without a link
TikTok captions can't hold a clickable link, and most viewers who want your app just search the App Store. Those installs look organic. WhichPost measures how many installs and paying users each creator's posts brought, with a likely range, and no link at all.
The short answer
You don't need a link to see what a TikTok post did. WhichPost checks each post's public views every hour and lines them up with your installs, trials and payments from RevenueCat. When installs rise above your normal level after one creator's views grow, that creator gets the credit, with a range on the result.
The problem
Why TikTok installs go missing
The path from a TikTok post to an install skips every place a link could count it.
-
No link in the caption
TikTok captions aren't clickable, and a creator's one bio link is shared by every brand they post for. Few viewers go looking for it.
-
The App Store search gap
Interested viewers open the App Store and type your name. That install arrives as organic search, with nothing tying it to the post they just watched.
-
Spikes blur together
Watching the install chart after a post works with one creator. With many creators posting the same week, the spikes overlap and can't be split by eye.
How WhichPost answers it
Let the timing of each post do a link's job
Every post's views grow on their own schedule. That timing is enough to tell posts apart, with nothing added to your app or captions.
Views, hour by hour
Paste the post links. WhichPost reads each post's public views every hour, so it knows when each one reached people.
Installs against your normal
Your installs are compared with what you'd have had anyway at that hour, weekday and season, so a good Monday isn't mistaken for a great post.
Paying users, not just installs
Installs are a start. Each creator is ranked by the paying users their posts brought, so you rebook the ones whose viewers pay.
One creator, two counts

What you need
Two things to connect. Nothing to install.
No SDK, no tracking links and no changes to your app, checkout or captions.
Stripe or RevenueCat
A restricted, read-only Stripe key for a web product, or a read-only RevenueCat key for a mobile app. Connect both if you sell in both places.
The posts you paid for
Links to the TikTok, Instagram or YouTube Shorts posts, from a clipping platform, an agency's sheet or direct creator deals.
Enough daily volume
About 20 new sign-ups or installs a day or more, and at least a week of history before the campaign started. A free data check tells you whether your data is enough before you pay.
Questions
Questions, answered.
Can I see which TikTok video drove installs?
For large posts, yes: the report measures the biggest posts on their own, with ranges, and marks which ones were large enough to tell. Smaller posts are measured together, per creator, which is usually the decision you need: who to book again.
Does it work for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts?
Yes for YouTube Shorts, read the same way as TikTok. Instagram often hides view counts from the public, so creators can connect their professional account through an invite link. When a post's views can't be read, the report says so.
Do I need an attribution SDK or deep links?
No. WhichPost needs no SDK, no deep links and no change to your app. It reads your RevenueCat data read-only, or Stripe if you sell on the web.
What does my app need?
About 20 new installs or sign-ups a day or more, and at least a week of history before the campaign started. Posts that go live at different times give sharper answers.
