Pontos de atenção
-
Views, not followers
Short videos reach mostly people who don't follow the creator, so we divide by views. A rate by followers mixes in how many followers saw the post, which you can't see.
-
One post is noisy
Single posts swing a lot. Judge a creator on three to five recent posts, not one.
-
Very high on a small post
A small post with a very high like rate can be a loyal audience or bought likes. Real comments mention the video; bought ones are generic.
-
Instagram Reels
Instagram hides view counts from visitors who aren't logged in, so we have no typical figures for Reels yet. The formula still works on your own numbers.
Como é calculado
- Engagement rate by views = (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100. YouTube doesn't show share counts, so on Shorts it is (likes + comments) ÷ views × 100.
- Likes, comments and shares per 1,000 views = the count ÷ views × 1,000.
- Each figure is placed among the posts we read: under the 10th percentile, the 10th to 25th, the middle half (25th to 75th), the 75th to 90th, or over the 90th.
- The call above the table follows likes per 1,000 views: comments and shares swing far more from post to post, so they back it up rather than decide it.
Perguntas
What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?
Measured by views, the middle half of the TikTok posts we read had an engagement rate of entre 4,5% e 13,5% (median 8,7%, 385 posts). Under 2,2% puts a post among the lowest 10%; over 21,2%, among the highest 10%.
What is a good engagement rate on YouTube Shorts?
Counting likes and comments, the middle half of the YouTube Shorts we read had an engagement rate of entre 0,85% e 2,0% (median 1,3%, 336 posts). Under 0,54% puts a Short among the lowest 10%; over 2,9%, among the highest 10%.
How many likes per 1,000 views is good?
On TikTok, the middle half of posts we read got entre 34 e 122 likes per 1,000 views; on YouTube Shorts, entre 8,0 e 19. The figures shift with how many views a post got: see them by post views on the data page.
Why by views and not by followers?
Most viewers of a short video don't follow the creator, and you can't see how many followers saw a post. Views are public and counted the same way on every post, so a rate by views compares posts fairly.
